David picked up the award for the World’s Top House DJ last night at London’s Ministry Of Sound.
The club was ram-packed with clubbers, with hundreds locked outside as beat-box extraordinaire, Beardyman, announced the results of the annual poll.
David jumped from 10 to 5, which is pretty cool considering that most voters are obviously Trance fans. Armin Van Buuren stayed at No1, with Tiesto and Paul Van Dyk, 2 & 3.
“It’s great to be thanked in this way by the people who come to dance with me each week, all over the world. Its been such a fantastic year for clubbing and I’ve had the best time ever.
I know some people like to criticize the poll, which is fine, but if you saw the crazy queues last night, there are a lot who it matters to, so that can only be a good thing for Dance music.
I personally don’t think this is a talent competition, but it is a popularity vote, which means just as much to me.
I genuinely appreciate the time people have taken to vote for me. I give my all at my gigs and it’s a good feeling to get the love back”.
David is now on a plane to Ukraine, then Russia and Slovenia to play Ambassador Gavioli, one of his favourite gigs of the year.
